What These Walls Keep

Naomi Smith has read people for a living since she was four years old — the flicker before the smile, the half-second stall that means someone is about to lie. Reading people correctly is what saved her life. Proving it took two years. When her colleague Jasmyn is found dead in their Portland therapy practice, Naomi knows exactly what she is looking at, and knows nobody will believe her. She was the last person to speak to Jasmyn, and she sent her away. Now she is the only person who can prove it wasn't a choice — and the one person who cannot say how she knows, not without giving up the name she buried and the reason she has spent three years making herself very hard to find.
