An app from The Welcome PDX
Tend
An app truly built with neurodivergence in mind.
Most planners and habit apps are built for one way of thinking. Tend works with yours. It gives you a little version of yourself to look after, and when you take care of yourself, it does well too. Things stay in sight, starting gets a gentle nudge instead of a nag, and your day is planned around the life you actually live.

Two minutes with Tend
The video uses a made-up person's information, so no one's real data appears. Captions are available in the player.
What makes it different
Designed for how your mind works, not how an app thinks it should
Built around your real life
Setup asks about the life you actually live: who you live with, how the kids get to school, your work hours, your pets, food, and what makes starting hard. Your answers build a routine that fits, and nothing is planned for a time you couldn't do it.
Nothing slips out of sight
Your companion's needs, like water, food, meds and sleep, stay on the home screen. If you can't see it, you forget it, so Tend keeps it where you can see it. One tap logs it.
Just say it
Talk to your companion the way you'd talk to a friend: “add eggs to the shopping list”, “dentist Thursday at 2”, “my period just started”. It's filed in the right place, with a quick question only when it's needed. Speech is turned into text on your phone.
Do it together
Tell your companion you're showering, cooking or working, and it joins in. Even the boring parts feel shared.
Help getting started
When starting feels impossible, Tend picks one tiny step and does the first two minutes with you.
Gentle, never pushy
Reminders stay few and gentle. If demands feel like pressure, choices mode replaces orders with options, with no yes-or-no questions.
Food without the fight
Keep a list of safe foods. When you can't decide, you get two suggestions, and one tap puts them on the shopping list.
Hard days count too
Not well? Pause, and nothing counts against you. No streaks to break, and what didn't happen quietly folds away. Meds reminders still come through.

Questions
Good to know
Who is Tend for?
Adults with ADHD, autism and other neurodivergent minds, and anyone who wants a gentler way to keep up with daily life. Tend is a support tool, not a test, and nothing you miss is held against you.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no sign-up and no login. Everything you put into Tend stays on your phone.
Which phones does it work on?
Tend is coming to Android first, through Google Play. A full iPhone app is on its way; until then, iPhone users can try a free preview that works from Safari (see Tend for iPhone).
Is Tend a medical app?
No. Tend helps with routines and everyday care, but it isn't medical advice and it doesn't replace your doctor, pharmacist or therapist. See the terms of use for details.
Does my companion have to be called Sam?
No. Sam is the name used in our examples. You choose your companion's name and look when you set up the app.
Help and support
Inside the app, Settings → Help and fixes covers the most common problems, with a button that fixes many of them for you. For anything else, email Support@Thewelcomepdx.org with “Tend” in the subject line.
